Landslides are a common occurrence in British Columbia due to steep ground and frequent amounts of high precipitation. We use UAVs to determine the point of commencement and the scale and extent of the soil movement. Using our mapping capabilities, we can georeference and determine the exact size of the disturbance. We can check if roads have been blocked, if salvage options exist, and if the debris has reached fish creeks and is diverting flow.
The maps and imagery can be sent to Geological Engineers to assess for safety and management options, eliminating the need for them to visit the site. Additionally, our team of forest professionals can determine the suitability for re-forestation and salvage opportunities.
